The Power of Perspective
My spirit makes diligent search.
Why did God put Jacob’s family inside Egypt for over 200 years?
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peacable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Moreover He called for a famine in the land; He destroyed all the provision of bread. He sent a man before them--Joseph--who was sold as a slave. They hurt his feet with fetters, he was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him. The king sent and released him, the ruler of the people let him go free. He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions, To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom.
1 Peter 2:21
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.
“He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE ON OUR TRIALS:
1. Jacob: God uses captivity to grow you.
2. Joseph: God’s release from prison will give you authority over the very prison that held you.
3. Caleb: The duration of your trial will give you the authority with God and credibility with people to take a whole mountain in the grace of God.
4. Jesus: One day you will despise your sufferings because of the blow you dealt the adversary.
